Kelston Madam Butterfly is a homebred ten year old purebred daughter by Blue Henry out of Clannad Chance Desire (RID). She has passed inspection and has RID status. She has inherited those wonderful elastic floating paces from both her sire and dam and has natural balance and cadence. Her temperament and manners are faultless and she is a joy to work with. Her debut into under saddle showing proved very successful in 2000 being placed at every outing.
In 2001 she emerged a more mature frame and picked up a Wembley ticket by winning at the very first qualifier of the year under very strong opposition. She qualified for HOYS and RIHS again in 2002, 2003 and 2004. She has taken numerous championships and been Reserve Supreme. She is also proving very successful in dressage affiliating in 2003 gaining BD points first time out. We have also tried our hand at riding side-saddle and after only 4 weeks of, doing a bit here and a bit there, won first time out, and followed on with a fair few more wins after that.
We took part in a dressage to music qualifier and reached the finals which was great fun and she loved it. We were 2nd Cob and 4th overall in the Best Trained Show Horse Class at the Nationals 2004.
In the 2005 season she turned her talent to jumping by first embarking in a few working cob classes and certainly did not disgrace herself, by winning several novices classes, but also went on to do unaffiliated jumping and performance classes. She has a huge natural jump and enjoys it tremendously, so this year with now more experience competing will be more exciting. To date she has accumulated over 6000 performance points for her efforts and won over £1500 prize money. She is now working at medium level dressage.
"Miss Dainty Feet" as she has been dubbed, is a fine representative of the Irish Draught breed proving how versatile they can be and an excellent example of the qualities passed on by Blue Henry.
This year 2006 Butter is hopefully going to become a mum, we are carefully looking for the right stallion for her and she will visit him later in the year.
